I did read Amritha K’s post in the similar Microsoft Answer thread that I linked to above, but I am somewhat leary of installing non-Windows 7 drivers on a new Windows 7 installation. I have tried it too and it worked for the network.

The computer would go into hybrid sleep and when it wakes up I would get a yellow exclamation on the Athheros icon in the system tray. I have not yet figured out if it is triggered by the amount of data, or at different times, but I do know that a significant amount of data traffic through connection will crash it. I’ve spent days on this and many users have reported the same problem, and still no updated driver on their site.
Although not conclusive proof it would appear that the problem lies with the driver for the Atheros controller. Posted 30 July – I have a P5B SE board though and updated the drivers via windows update, would this not be enough to ensure I had working drivers? Basically the LAN card was invisible to every operating system I tried.
